Kathleen's Story

My Story, I had a nice time in High School, class of 75!! If I were to change anything ....it would be that I wasn't so shy!! Lol But I have made and kept great friends from High School ....there is nothing like a friend that grew up with you and accepts you unconditionally! Life gets so busy, but it critical to maintain your friendships with your friends! I enjoy every minute with them ...be it a kids party or holiday party or no party at all! I was surprised to realize that I had High School friends in other years ....but I am grateful for all my friends! After High School, some friends got married, some went on to college, and some got jobs. I went to Middlesex County College, because my mom worked there and tuition was free!!! That was the best education I could receive ...not just in Business, but in life! I say that because later I married the boy next-door (Steve Hardaker) and we had two wonderful boys! The life experience I learned from Middlesex ... encouraged me to get a job at Monmouth University, where my boys are also benefiting by getting free tuition! I am a Proud mom, with one college graduate and the other in his third year of college at Monmouth University! I later continued my education at Rutgers and Monmouth ...because if you don't have a trade, our kids today need as much education as they can get! I feel blessed to give them this free education! We have had ups and downs in life, as everyone has! Caring for my sick parent and seeing them past away ...has made me more spiritual than I ever was ... But with each experience I believe we should learn something ....be it a g...Expand for more
ood experience or a bad experience! As my profile notes mentioned, we lost our home in the Sandy Storm, but we painfully tore it apart and built a newer house ...so there was a faint silver llining with the devastation! I also had help from much of my family and friends!! And every day I thank God we were not hurt during that storm, as we were home in a ranch house when the water starting coming in! We still have to raise our home ..so the stress level is still high! But I have a strong faith and I know it will all work out! I have a great, personal view about life I would like to share with you all ..."look at your life as chapters ...and if you are in a really bad chapter ....change the page and start a new chapter in your life as fast as you can!" This obvious philosophy can get you thru anything ....and I hope and pray your future chapters are filled with good health and happy times! So thank you for Reading my story ...we have a lot more Amazing Chapters to look forward to! Try to keep positive, never stop growing and learning, be kind, pay it forward when you can, live more, love more, enjoy even the smallest of things, forgive when you need too, accept what you cannot change, and lastly, don't compare yourself to others ....but look within and be the best you can be ....words I live by! We have a big Reunion class of 1975 .... BUT ALL CLASS YEARS are invited to this venue ....I hope I see you there the July 18, 2015 .....Coreen does an amazing job organizing it ...and even gets a photo of the celebrating class members ... Hope we see you there! God Bless! Sincerely, Kathy Ammann-Hardaker
