Life
At this age I'm in a very different place than I ever expected -- have lost my only child at age 3 to a terrible genetic disease in 1996, and after nearly 20 tumultuous yr of marriage I am recently very happily divorced, finally admitting to myself what I'd known in my heart for years -- my ex-husband truly did not want to be married. So once again I'm pulling myself up by my bootstraps & starting my life over again -- something at which I'm becoming quite adept! Am enjoying being single and dating again -- very reminiscent of college.
After Jr year of HS my family moved to Bolingbrook, where I was inducted into NHS and graduated. My Mom died very suddenly the following year, so I stayed home to help my Dad adjust while I worked 3 jobs daily to save money for college. re than becoming a linguist or a translator and changed my major. Attended U of I med center (now UIC) college of pharmacy, graduated in 1983, went to work for a couple of independently owned pharmacies before buying my own store in 1985. After 20 yr of working 50-60hr weeks, with little or no time off & no benefits, I sold my store with the intention of buying a larger, more successful one. That turned out to be a raw deal, so I tried working for a couple more independents. Neither job was as promised or as expected, so I recently accepted a job with CVS. I know I'll have some adjustments to make but figure at this stage in my life I need to look out for myself & my financial security. I'll be moving to Rockford soon.
