Kathleen's Story
College
Like many Boonies, I attended DMACC because I just didn't want to leave my family or Boone (I don't the what the hell I was thinking.) I got my Associate of Arts degree in 1998 and immediately transfered to Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa and where I majored in biology and chemistry (pre-med) my junior year then I saw the light (i.e., decided I didn't want to be in college for the next 8 years) and changed my major to music. I graduated in 2001 with a BA degree in K-12 vocal music education.
Workplace
I currently live in Uptown Minneapolis and I'm having tons of fun with my fabulous friends. I have taken up the hobby of comedy sketch writing and improvisational acting. I recently co-wrote and ...Expand for more
acted in a Level 5 sketch show at the Brave New Workshop titled "The Chronicles of Blarnia: The Nanny, The Stripper, and The Fatsuit" and I'm looking forward to doing more of that in the future. I was also cast in La Vie Theatre's production of "Dearly Departed".
I'm currently substitute teaching all grade levels and subjects around the Twin Cities area. It's pretty challenging...and fun every once in a while. I used to be a choir and band director at a middle school south of Mankato but was laid-off due to budget cuts in the district. Thank god the rest of my personal ife outshines my career world.
