Life!!!
After leaving Manteca High School at 16, I finished the last 2 years of High School in Oregon, then got a scholarship to study Journalism at University of Oregon, in Eugene, Oregon.
That was during the ripe years of the end of the Viet Nam war, so instead of studying "other peoples stories", I decided to live my own!!
I had this romantic ideal to fulfill regarding adventure, so I went "North to Alaska" for 4 years. I lived in Ketchikan, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kodiak, and halfway out the Aleutian Island Chain in Dutch Harbor.
After 4 years in the intensely beautiful, but intensely cold Alaska, (I have been OUTSIDE in minus 65!!!) I moved to Hawaii, and lived there for 5 years. I learned to scuba dive for a friend who had a tropical fish business, so I did that part-time and went to nursing school part time, and got a degree as an R.N. at University of Hawaii.
After 5 years in Hawaii, I went on a trip across the U.S, and fell in love with Santa Fe, New Mexico, and lived there a while, but eventually settled in Austin, Texas, in 1982, where I still live! I love the laid-back cowboy-old-hippie-spiritual-irreverent-artistic-poet-cosmopolitan-outdoor vibe!!
I left for one year, and traveled a yea...Expand for more
r in Brazil in 1985 and 86, Danced in Carnaval in Rio! And walked miles barefoot into Indian villages with no roads nor electricity!
At the age of 37, I married Terry Kirkpatrick, and we divorced in 1997, after 10 years, as our life vision changed.
I never had any children.
Now I have been with Doug Miller for 15 years, going strong!
We own a Bed & Breakfast at Lake Travis, just outside of Austin, Texas, called "Casa del Sol" You can find us at casadelsolbedandbreakfast.com.
Since 1991, I have been involved in exploration of consciousness. My joke is, I have been doing this "pre Oprah and pre-Chopra!! I have been teaching an international course called "Avatar", and have been doing that for 23 years now. I have had the grace to teach courses all over the USA, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Holland, Germany, Poland, Hawaii... Information on that is at avatarepc.com and theavatarcourse.com. It has been growing, and growing, and is now in 75 countries, and 25 languages. It is my love and passion. Every adventure or career I have had in my life led to this. I feel very appreciative of every twist and turn in life! We were once "in THE 60s",and now we are in OUR 60's!!! How cool is that!!??
