Kathryn's Story
I was born in New Orleans in 1950, moved around quite a bit, lived in Houma at 610 Columbus St. at a skinny 2 story house, that was still there about 12 yrs. ago when my husband and I went through Houma. I went to school 8th (maybe 7th, I can't remember), and my freshman year at Terrebonne High.And I think I went thru part of my junior year. Moved to Missouri with my older brother, met my sweetheart and husband of almost 41 years. I went back to school and became an RN and have worked as a home care nurse for 13 years, am looking forward to retirement in 3 years, 3 mos, and 5 days (but...Expand for more
who's counting). We have two wonderful children, Jeff - 37, and Angela - 34. Jeff gave use a grandson, Chandler 12, and Angela gave us a grandaughter, Hannah 9. I remember getting initated as freshman - how fun, we had to wear pajamas, uncombed hair. I still have pictures.
I always wanted to be a nurse missionary when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
I love to
read, take a walk, work in the yard. Love to work on our little farm where we plan to retire. Small house that we are remodeling, beautiful trees, hills and hollers.
