Kathryn's Story
Most recent update August 2022:
Living in Benicia California on the Carquinez Straits, and very near Napa, Berkeley and San Francisco. Day-to-day activities include walking/hiking, ballroom dance classes and social dancing, books (mostly audible while I'm walking or gardening), meeting friends for lunch/dinner/happy hour, and excursions to interesting places in the SF Bay Area. Kathryn is widowed and has one grown/married daughter and one grandson.
I still have stong ties in Washington, specifically my siblings: Mike and his wife April live in Marysville, Carol lives in Mukilteo, Patty and her husband Mark live in Yakima, and Brian and his wife Belinda live in Levenworth. And of course, there are tons of nieces, nephews and their offspring that I miss dearly.
Education: Schools include Oak Harbor High School in Washington State. Kathryn later graduated MA Business from JFK University (specializing in Business Management, Systems Engineering). Career: Work included environmental monitoring, computer programming, quality assurance verification, general auditing, and construction contract auditing.
One of Kathryn's favorite quotes is: "You think because you understand...Expand for more
ONE you must understand TWO, because ONE and ONE make TWO. But you must also understand AND! (Sufism)
In the Book of Life the answers aren't in the back. (Charlie Brown - and many others)".
More about Kathryn:"Kathy - live, love, and laugh.
Love my family, my cats, and a good laugh. Can't sit still when there's good music to dance to. Always looking for a new adventure. Want the last half of my life to be filled with meaning and memories.".
Notes from 2020 - what a year, and it's only September. I sold my Woodland home in April, relocated to Benicia CA into an apartment (temporary), and next week I'll sign final papers for my next (and hopefully for a while - last) home located near the Carquinez Bridge in Vallejo. I'm looking forward to its water views and cool morning fog - memories of my real home on Whidbey Island.
Moving is tough, and I'm hoping I can drop anchor for awhile and relax/enjoy my retirement. I miss "home" all the time, especially when I see your wonderful posts from Washington State. Believe me, I'd be there in a heartbeat, but my daughter and her family are here and this is where I need to be.
