Kathryn's Story
My biggest surprise is that after HS I moved to Iowa to attend college thinking I'd return to CA after 2 yrs and become a teacher. Instead I married, had 2 sons, divorced, went back to school, received my masters, quit my HR Mgmt job to do PeopleSoft consulting. So now I still live in IA on the weekends but everywhere else during the week. My mother and sisters sitll live in Pleasanton and Sunol so I make it back to the bay area 3-6 times each year. ther but not the crowds of people. Since the silicon valley the bay area has truly changed.
I've found wherever I am there is beauty some places it instantaneously hits you in the face and some places it is a slow realization. Still glad to be alive and never sorry I grew up in the bay area. A great place to be from and always fun to return.
When I moved to IA I seemed to be so liberal and now when I return to CA I seem so conservative. Funny how we change.
