Kathy's Story
Life
My husband Dennis Spencer and I have been married 32 years. I met him after moving to Paducah, Kentucky my junior year. We live in Gallatin, TN outside Nashville. I'm a newly retired dental hygienist after working for 32, and Dennis is Vice President of Fossil Operations for the West Division of Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). We have 2 daughters, Allison 27,who graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May 2008. She is employed by Healthspring as a Clinical Pharmacist and also still continues to help at Krogers when needed. She also got married in June 2006. Kristin 25, graduated from University of Alabama Huntsville with a mechanical engineering degree in August 06. She worked for Tennessee Valley Authority (power producer)in Chattanooga, Tennessee for 1 year after graduation. She was the 3rd generation to work for TVA. She now lives back in Huntsville, Alabama and is working on Redstone Arsenal designing missle launchers for the ARMY. We started later in life on our family, ...Expand for more
so no grandchildren as of yet. Only 3 grand dogs,all boys.
Dennis and I have taken up kayaking and flyfishing. We hope to retire soon (Dennis Dec 2010 moved back from Oct 2008 due to the transfer and me April 30, 2009) to persue this further and also do some traveling.
School
I left Bay City December of my Junior year and moved to Paducah, KY. I thought my life was over. I then attended Heath High School where there was only 400 students in the whole school and out in the middle of the country, where I had been use to over 300 just in my graduating class in town. But things work out the way they are suppose to. That is where I met my future husband.
College
I attended Paducah Community College my first year, then transferred to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky where I earned a degree in Dental Hygiene.
Workplace
I work 3 days a week for Dr. BJ Rippy a general dentist here in Gallatin, TN. I have been doing hygiene for 31 years now. Will retire in April of this year.
