Kathy's Story
In 2004 I came to San Francisco on a 2 day conference and fell in love with the city. I came back 5 times in 3 years for vacations and decided I HAD to live in San Francisco. I got a second job and paid off all of my debt (except my house) and, in July 2008, made a leap of faith by putting almost everything I owned in storage, getting a renter for my house and packing only what would fit in my car and driving to San Francisco. I'm divorced, have no children and no family still living in Tulsa so it was easy to pick up stakes....Expand for more
I gave myself 6 months to either establish myself or go back to Tulsa and forget about San Francisco. To make a long story short, I got a great job in accounting with University of California, San Franciso (UCSF) and have no plans to move back to Tulsa. I live in downtown San Francisco and my profile pic shows me with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background which is my favorite tourist attraction and is less than 5 miles from my apartment. I have never regreted the decision other than that I should have sold my house. :)
