Kathy's Story
I now have a literary agent who will be marketing my novels. Two wonderful illustrator's art grace my children's books ~ Kathleen Flanagan Kresa, another Mercy girl, did the art for the first book, and Donna Plant illustrated the last three books in the Blake Sisters Lake Tahoe Adventure Stories. Both artists are amazing.
2012 ~ Went to the Squaw Valley Community of Writers Conference with my writers critique group. Sarah did my bio pic photo shoot at Tahoe and Squaw.
2013 ~ Went to the Mt. Hermon Writers Conference in Santa Cruz area.
2013 ~ Taught a children's book workshop at the Gold Rush Writer's Conference/Mokelumne Hill, CA
I am a freelance/stringer/photographer for the local papers, Amador Ledger Dispatch/ GoldMine/Lodestar
Live in Amador County with my husband, one daughter and two stand-up comedian dogs ~ a naughty black lab/Newfoundland Retriever, age 5, and an old gal, rotty/shepherd, age 13. Oh yeah, the fun never ends!
I have two grown, married sons, two daughters-in-law, and three beautiful granddaughters ~ Meckennah, Rhiannon & Brooklynn, all on the east coast! Kennah is joining us out here on the west coast, she'll be stationed in Seattle, WA on the Cutter Mellon, USCG. I have an eighteen-year-old granddaughter! so cool.
Now have a new grandson ~ 2 this summer.

years ago. All three sons have flown the nest. (ages 39, 36 & 30)
My other daughter, Becky lives in Washington and has three beautiful children, Alyssa, Sierra & Oliver.
My daughter, Jenny will graduate from CSUS this fall, an English Major and History minor. A chip off the old Mumsie block. She writes and paints but is going to be an English college professor.
Do a little freelance photography, and quarterly exhibits at Clark's Corner in Ione, CA.
Home schooled the two youngest through jr & high school. Oldest two went through public schools and loved it. Lived in England for three years (1978-1981) Husband is retired USAF and presently Cal Fire.
Four of the Boyd girls are writers ~ Maureen, Kathy, Kelly & Meghan ~ all in different genres and stages of publication. (Maureen has a children's picture book out ~ Walking with Maga)
Shannon takes care of our mom, who has Alzheimers. We used to take a day each, a day nurse helps out during the week. It has been fourteen years now. Mom is a sweetie-pie though she doesn't know who we are anymore.
My sister Shawne retired from her state job last year. We go on summer birthday adventures to Tahoe, Carmel, Victoria & Vancouver, Canada, and this year we're going to Mendacinoin the summer, and driving up to Seattle in the autumn.
I want to retire like my sister!
