Kathy's Story
After high school, I left Pittston Area for Penn State to get away from the snickering stuck up people that made fun of me. I enjoyed my years at PennState earning my nursing degree, going to football games and hanging out at the fraternity that I was a "Little Sister" at. While at PSU I met my husband , moved back to Pittston Area, got married and had a son. After 23 years of marriage to someone that was never the right guy for me, I divorced him and am now enjoying life.
I love my job at the VA, I own my home that I share with my son, and spend weekends going out with friends or on a date.

tive and fun to be with by my friends, the people I work with and the people I care for. I'm the ugly duckling that finally became the swan that I never thought I could be and I didn't do anything to make it happen, it just came naturally. I still have low self esteem at times because of the negative image I had drilled in my head during those high school years but my friends pick me up and reassure me that I am not what my classmates called me in high school. I love the friends I now have. Since I know what it feels like to be the outcast, it made me a better person because I always treat others as I would like to be treated.
I am still looking for the right guy, I know what I want in a guy and refuse to settle for less! I find it better to be alone than unhappy with Mr. Wrong!
