Life After graduating from Santa Fe I went to work as a telephone operator at GTE. My Mom passed away in 1966 so I left Lakeland. I moved around quite a bit, trying to find myself. I wound up in Daytona Beach and there I met my husband of 18 years,Johnnie. We were married at St. Paul's Cathedral in Daytona and later had 2 children. Johnnie III, is 40, he's married and lives just outside Charlotte, NC. He is an independent construction contractor for a well known cellular tower company . My youngest son is 36 and lives in Lakeland. He works at Pepperidge Farm and has for the last 6 - 7 years. He is married also. He enjoys his work and loves his computer. He got designated to be the son to look after Mom. He does a great job. My ex-husband and I remain close friends. While I was still married and the children were in school,I went to college to become a R.N. This is what I had always planned to do if everything hadn't happened the way it did. I graduated from Valencia Community College in 1983 with my AS Degree in Nursing. I have been working ever since. I moved back to Lakeland, from Orlando,when I divorced in 1985.
