Kathy's Story
Life
As this new year gets under way, I reflect on the changes over the last year. My position with the county health dept. ended in June, due to state funding cuts. I spent the summer gardening and canning/freezing our garden produce. Our garden really produced well for us! We built an "extension" that will will more than double the size of the garden. I've started planning already, for just what I will plant where! I do enjoy gardening! :D We moved my younger sister from Olympia to Prosser, Wa.the first part of August;, where she now liver in an assisted living facility... her health continues to decline, unfortunately. My oldest daughter, her son and my neice all flew out from Massechusetts in May... it was so fun to spend some time with all of them! Looking forward to another visit this year! My grandson Charles is growing so fast! And... we just became grandparents ... again! Dan's son, John and his wife Chrissie, had a baby boy on Jan. 4th! We are planning a trip over to the "west side" to finally ge...Expand for more
t to see him, and the rest of the family, of course.... :P next weekend Baby Aden weighed in at 6C and 19 1/2"
We stayed home for Christmas and ended up having 2 out of 5 of our combined kids come visit! My son, Ryan and his wife Shanna flew up from Texas, where he is stationed... we are all hoping he gets his next posting is up here in the Pacific Northwest! Lara and Randy came over from the Tri-Cities and spent a couple of days with us, and caught up current events with her brother. Their aunt and uncle (who also live here in Goldendale) spent some "quality time" visiting while they were all here.
My new position, working 1:1 with a preschool age child for the ESD112 is going well.... this position has me back doing what I really like doing... working with special needs kids. It's really a "plum" job, or so I think... I work 4 hours, 3 days a week... and I just have my little guy to take care of! Best nursing job out there :D Well, that pretty well sums up current and past events, here on the Kincaid Ranch!
