Kathleen A.'s Story
Hi! My husband, Jim Halley, and I (I kept my last name) and our Cocker Spaniel live in Virginia, near Washington, D.C. Jim works for Stars & Stripes newspaper and I'm an associate editor for HR News, an online daily news service for a nonprofit (Society for Human Resource Management).
After graduating from North (go, Patriots!) I got my undergrad degree at ISU then worked as a reporter and editor at the Terre Haute Tribune-Star for 8 years. ing the time the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" came out.
We eventually headed to Utah, where I worked for the 2002 Winter Olympics Committee as a senior editor, learned to ski & ride horses, and where Jim served as sports editor at the Salt Lake Tribune. When the Olympics ended, I was a business reporter at the Tribune before we moved to Virginia for Jim's job at USA Today.
I'm involved in community theater, our Catholic church and our development's Social Committee, where I have introduced Little Free Libraries to our community and
(pre-pandemic) arranged free Sunday concerts during the summer featuring military bands. We've gotten involved with an area classic car club, are learning to play pickleball, enjoy visiting wineries and traveling. If you want to reach out, send a message to me via LinkedIn or SHRM.
