Kathy's Story
Life
A pet..yes..an Old English Sheepdog that goes by the name of "Annie"....and so gentle and sweet. She will make the trip to the class reunion, but she will stay at the hotel while we go to the reunion. Kids, another yes. Marcie is 40 and has 4 great kids, 3 boys and 1 girl, who we see quite often. Cassie is 38 and has 2 girls, but because she lives in San Diego we only see everyone every 2-3 months. Her girls will come and spend a month with us this summer. Marcie and Cassie married great guys, and they are like the sons I never had. Rich and I have been married now for 42 years and we live just outside Houston, Texas. Rich was with an oil company...the same one for over 30 years. I was an x-ray technologist/mammography for many years as well. We both retired in the year 2000. We take a few trips, but I must confess I love staying home. And, we are not that busy because we love to find time to spend with our grandchildren. They are all so different and so much fun.
I still dabble in art and like to read (but, I never wrote and illustrated that children's book I promised myself I would do). I play at golf and love swimming everyday that I can.
I enjoy life and living...and peace and tranqulity...and meeting once again old friends from the past. So, Please sign my guest book because I would love to e-mail you back.
Update 7/20/2015
We lost our beautiful Annie, the Old English Sheepdog, 4 years ago, but we made a home for another OES....named Gracie! Gracie is 4 years old, and we call her Gracie, because it was by the Grace of God that she came into our home for us to love right after Annie passed. Rich and I just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Broadmoor, Colorado Spring, CO......of course Gracie came with us as well as our children and those grandchildren that could. Our grandchildren are growing up fast.....the oldest is 19 and the youngest is 12. We have two studying at the University of Texas, Austin, TX.......life has been kind to us.

Update: 9/30/2017
We still have Gracie, our beautiful and sweet Old English Sheepdog. She travels everywhere with us. Those grandchildren are growing up fast, and ALL have passed me up in height, including the girls. We have another in college now, our oldest granddaughter attends Cal Berkeley. Two more are 15 and the youngest is 14......all grandkids are golf...Expand for more
ers. As for me, I pick up my ball when it has been a not so good hole.....and I have been known to fudge on my scoring.....hee hee
Both Rich and I continue to be in good health with only an occasional setback.....I am talking about my ability to produce very large kidney stones, and I can tell you they HURT😲.
I lost my sister in April of 2016. I have missed our special times together, but time does heal all wounds.
We missed the class reunion this year, but we hope to attend the 60th.....God willing.
Update 3/13/2022
We now have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Mickey. She is 8 months and about 80 lbs. I still outweigh her, but not by much….LOL We lost our beloved Sheepdog, Gracie, on August 31st of last year. She was 11 1/2 years old. Two days later we drove to Oklahoma to pick up Mickey.
Mickey at 5 months decided to go after a squirrel at the park. It was December 2nd…..she pulled me down, and I broke the condyle off my left humerus. Only 2 doctors in the entire Methodist Hospital system do this kind of surgery. I was so fortunate to get into the best in the Medical Center in Houston. I now have a plate and three screws in that elbow! Did I mention I am left handed! The surgery went well, and with my doctor being so aggressive, I started therapy 4 weeks post surgery. I have been diligent with my exercises. I am virtually back to 100% normal. But what an experience that was! And yes, I still love Mickey….LOL
The photo with my daughter, Marcie, and our granddaughter, Laney, was taken March 8th at her 21st birthday party in Austin, TX where she is a junior at UT. Her brother, Luke is one year behind her at UT. Her two older brothers graduated from there as well. The oldest, Jake, is a lawyer working for a big litigation firm in Houston. Brother #2, AJ, is in investment banking.
Marcie is CEO and president of United Salt Company in Houston and her husband is still an agent for baseball.
Cassie, our youngest daughter has two girls. Zoe graduated from Berkeley in their EECS program(electrical engineering and computer science) and works for google. Vivi is a junior at Chapman in CA and is in film.
