Kathy (Kathleen)'s Story
I will be unable to attend the 50 year reunion but I hope you all have a wonderful time. Here's my "Last 50 Years" story:
Let's see â what have I done in the past 50 years â lived, loved, laughed, lost; learned to give, accept, respect, regret gracefully, enjoy; make allowances, wonderful choices, successful harmony. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband of 30 years. Between us, we have 6 great children. All 6 kids are very special in their own ways â all different â but special. We have 16 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren on which to dote. It is amazing how you can realize their growth and changes far better than when raising your own children. I guess you have more time and less worry.
I have been in Florida since 1975 and am living in the small town in North-Central Florida called Live Oak. We are now âcountry folkâ and loving it, I worked for Waste Management for 32 years and we retired to Live Oak in 2009. My motto is, âRetirement is like every day is a Saturday and all the stores are open.â I love not having to wake to an alarm.

ssee, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania. We love to antique and do most of our travels and antiquing with family and a few friends. Our life is simple & fulfilling. We love being at home and having company. Cooking and baking are a couple of my loves â baking being the favorite. My favorite past times are crocheting and crafting of all types. I love making things for family and friends and we decorate for every holiday. This year I began donating some of my crocheted items to a nursing home here in Live Oak in hopes that the hats, shawls, throws, etc will keep someone from being cold. There are so very many people in these places who may need something I could provide.
James and I have a couple of old cars â a 1955 2-door hardtop Chevy & a 1967 SS Chevy Impala convertible. We used to go to a lot of old car functions but not so much any more.
My hope for the future is to continue to have good health, great family and wonderful friends. Life is dear and too short to not enjoy every day. It's a blessing to wake every morning and be happy. I pray that everyone in our Class of '63 who is still around is happy, healthy and in good spirits. God bless you all.
