Kathy's Story
Since High School I have traveled around the U.S. and have lived in seven of our wonderful states (KS of course, FL, NY, CT, WA, PA, and TX). The path of life currently finds me married (17 yrs!) and living in Texas. I may return to Kansas (or Missouri) someday but there are no immediate plans. I like to go where the road takes me... well, actually where I'm willing work, travel, or to live.
My employers have also taken me on trips to some of the foreign lands.....Canada, Germany and Brazil. (Okay, Canada is part of North America but it's still a foreign land, lol). I love to travel, to experience new places, foods, and to meet new people.
I surely have earned my "Bachelor's Degree".... actually no, my "Master's Degree", from the University of Life. I've worked hard to overcome the stigmatism in the workplace of not having a collegiate "degree". I'm most proud of the fact that through hard work and dedicati...Expand for more
on I climbed the "ladder of success" into management positions at a Fortune 500 company. Especially when others, or as I say doubters, said it couldn't be done. I'm now the proud new CEO of my own business, while also working a fulltime job at IBM. It's a great and exciting challenge. I believe ANYTHING is possible if you put your heart and soul into what you want to achieve in life.
I love working with people and doing volunteer work for the Special Olympics, Texas. What a fulfilling and wonderful experience. If you've never done it, I recommend being a volunteer to anyone who thinks they have it hard in life. Working with these very unique and special atheletes has helped me to put everything into perspective. What warriors they are! I love to see the challenges they overcome, it's amazing!!!
My perfect job would be one where I'm allowed to travel, to live where I want, and to enrich the lives of others.
