Kathy Davis:  

After graduating from SIUE, I took a job at St.Elizabeth Hospital where two years later I met and married a pharmacist. We had a son Mike in 1981 and a daughter Sarah in 1983. We were a very busy family involved in Scholar Bowl, Oddesy of the Mind, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, soccer, T-Ball, band, Mock Trial, Model UN, Science Club and the lot. Both kids did well in school and Mike became a computer science guy who now works in tandem with the military here and abroad. Sarah became a biomedical engineer and sits at the head of a team who trial and test pharmaceuticals. I am lucky both live in St.Louis! I left St.Elizabeth Hospital in 1982 and went to work in the operating rooms at St.Louis Childrens Hospital. I loved this work and eventually took charge of some specialties there. I worked there in total 33 years and retired early in 2016. Just prior to this we lost my father to Alzheimers two days before my daughter's wedding. Just after retiring, we lost my mother to complications of repeated strokes. They lived to 93 and 94. Also during this time I left my marital home and lived in an apartment in Collinsville for a couple years.
