Kathy's Story
Life
After HS I went on to ECC where I finally made the Cheerleading Squad (go figure) didn't make it in HS (I was on the Drill Team). Got my AA then transferred to San Diego State where I again made the Cheer Squad and got my BA. Married 3 weeks after graduation and was married 14 years. Been divorced nearly 30 years. One daughter (35yrs.), she was married in June '06 and now I have 2 grandsons I must brag a little here...I raised her alone, coached her Pop Warner Cheerleading for 9 years, coached VolleyBall, and she went on to get through 4 yrs of College in 3 years and graduated top in her class, with honors, Magna Cum Laude. I am so proud of her. I worked close to 30 yrs in the Transportation Industry, mostly focusing on Air Freight working in the Cargo Sales Dept of a few airlines. I traveled to 79 countries (travel is my passion). I played softball and co-ed softball for 25 years. rlines, especially because of 9/11 and I faced alot of age discrimination. Changed careers in '02 , went to work for ADT Security in Sales & was doing very well in my new field but...in '04 I was run over by a forklift (on the job) lost use of my other arm, wrist, hand. Needless to say, that was a bummer. I am doing well now, am retired, delivering private yachts around the world & selling yachts part time for fun. I race Sailboats year round & want to circumnavigate on a yacht.
I raced to Honolulu in the Transpac Race with a crew of 8 on a 47' yacht in 2007 We took 2nd place. Successfully climbed Machu Picchu in Peru & Angel's Landing in Zion natl park.
I always wanted to be a ballerina/model when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea.
My best friend would tell you I'm full of energy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as crazy.
I share my home with dolphins, whales & birds, which I find very soothing. I love getting a massage on the bow of my sailboat. Sailing & traveling.... Life can't get much better!!!
