Kathy's Story
After graduating from Allderdice my family moved to Miami in 1966. I joined the Miami Police Department in 1967 where I was a police dispatcher for the first four years and then I became a police officer. I resigned in July, 1979 and moved to Morris Chapel, TN with my husband who was also a Miami police officer. In 1988 we moved back to Miami and lived there until 1999 when we moved to Charlotte, NC. 2001 after 25 years together. Ironically, I attended a Miami Police Reunion in the fall of 2001 and met up with an old friend from the department, Norman Hale. We got along great; so great that we were married in 2003! He moved me back to Miami where we lived for the next six years. We have finally retired and are now living in St. Augustine, FL; the nation's oldest city (1565). We love it and hopefully will live out the rest of our days here together.
