Kathy's Story
Life
After graduation, I attended and graduated from Texas Tech University. I got an Art Education degree, and 3 weeks later, flew off to Australia to teach. I got stuck in a tiny town about 120 miles north of Melbourne called Echuca. I stayed there for 2 years, and traveled the country and New Zealand. When I returned, I was able to evade income tax via a loophole that sent me to Mazatlan, Mexico for 3 months. Not long after my return, I circled the U.S. and Canada on another 3 month journey. time I worked at Dillard's as Ass't. Store Manager, and got married at 30 to a Texas Tech alumni.
I moved to Arlington in 1999 and started teaching Art again. One daughter, 19, is a Sophomore at Texas Tech. Another daughter 18, at UTA, and youngest daughter, 15, a Sophomore at Arlington HS. I figure I'll be in debt at least 8 more years with college expenses. There is a reason people have children while they are young, but having a baby at 40 keeps you running strong, and you certainly can't slack off in your 50's.
