Kathy's Story
After school, I stayed around San Diego for awhile. I went to Mesa College and then attended a vocational college for Fashion Merchandising and Design. I got married in 84. We moved up to northern California to a place called Orangevale (just northeast of Sacramento). My marriage ended in 91 and I decided to go to court reporting school. I became a realtime captioner. I did that for awhile, but car accidents and the injuries that I sustained from them forced me to retire. Presently I am working on my art (my first love). I love to make art quilts, quilts, and wearable art. I dabble in jewelry making, love to knit and crochet.
Tahoe is only about and hour and a half, as well as San Francisco going the other way. There are a lot of lakes that I like to spend time on with the boat. I like to take trips to the beach.
Another big surprise is having children and the love that I have for them. I never thought I could love that much. It changes you and forces you to figure out what is really important in life. Children are my greatest reward from living. My eldest is ...Expand for more
20. He is awesome. I am excited to watch him grow and become a man. He is going to school to become a firefighter. My twin boys are now 8. They are equally exciting to watch grow but in a different way. I never thought I could love as much as I love my children. I am truly in awe every day when it comes to my children.
As far as my reasons for being on Classmates, I am interested in seeing where everyone is. I have not gone to any of the reunions. I think I might give it a try for next year.
I am hoping to reconnect with two dear old friends:
Laura Lang (class of '78) and Brenda Sermeno (class of '79) I miss them deeply.
Most recently, I thought about Renee Horton. I would like to reconnect with her.
