Kathy's Story
Life
After graduation, lived in Cali, Columbia for the summer as a foreign exchange student. Never got to meet Juan Valdez.
Went to UCSB for a semester, studying french and spanish. Next, went to DVC again studying french and spanish. Decided to just move to France to learn the language quicker. Spent 2 1/2 months at a private college but left because I was speaking too much english with other American students. Moved to Monte Carlo and bacame a nanny for 2 1/2 months. Came home as soon as I could converse in french and dream in french, as I fell in love with my husband Keith Roberts before leaving for France. We met at DVC in anatomy and physiology class. Worked on a cadaver together...romantic!
We've been married 25 yrs. Have two kids, our daughter Bobbie is 24 yrs. old and got married last Nov.(2008) and our son, James is 17 yrs. old and and 2 inches taller than his dad. I stayed home with the kids, homeschooling Bobbie through her sophomore yr. James I homeschooled through 6th grade.
Five years ago when we put James into a private school, I decided to follow my passion of health and fitness and became a certified personal trainer. I now work at the Renaissance Club Sport in Walnut Creek as a personal trainer.
In December of 2005, I signed a modeling contract with Generations agency in San Francisco. Didn't get too much work the first year. Ford modeling agency from N. York recently merged with Generations, so I've done one job for Ford and am hoping for more. It'd be nice to make some money at this!
In June (2006), I was asked to help with a diabetes research project in Majuro, Marshall Islands. I spent 2 weeks there, the first week preparing for the first round of patients to go through the intervention program, and the second week actually starting the program. articipating in daily exercise, ALL the patients (Type II diabetics) had their blood sugar levels within the normal range in 2 weeks! I hope to go back to visit.
The saddest event of my life happened in March (2006) when my beloved sister Kelly died from breast cancer. I'm still having a hard time grasping the reality of it all. I miss her terribly! Our family gets together quite often to comfort each other. We all mourn her death every day. Her husband David and girls, Alexandra and Megan are getting along day by day, trudging through the sorrow.
Gina and her husband, Steve, have been married 19 years and are living in Redding, CA with their 3 children, of which the youngest 2 were adopted from S. Korea. They have had 6 foreign exchange students live at their house representing China, Germany, Korea and France. It's a literal UN at their house!
My little brother Eric is living in Roseville, CA with his lovely Polish wife Ania. He met her here but married her in Poland where her parents and 2 brothers live. We all went to Poland for the wedding. They now have a 2 boys, almost 3 yrs. old, and a 1 yr. old. They recentlly had a daughter whose middle name is "Kelly" after my deceased sister, this July (2008) so they have 3 kids under the age of 3. What a lot of work!!! On our 24th wedding anniversary, July 31, 2007, my little brother Eric announced his intentions to run for Congress! He recently wrote and published a book called, "The Troops Need You, America". Great book! He was able to get the incumbant republican crook "Doolittle" to drop out of the race, then McClintok entered for the republican party so Eric stepped down and now supports him.
Both my folks are doing well. Mom lives near Eric and Ania and Dad and his new bride of 3 years, Catherine live in Sausalito. Nice to have family all within 3 hours, though wish everyone lived in the same town.
