Kathy's Story

I am going on 50 (wow) not to soon, mom of three, grams of 3, married to Gary since 11/79 yep all my life! We have had several adventures own our own businesses, computer software and scrapbooking and metal art, biggest adventure was a trip to alaska we drove 6 weeks - time of our life - Not sure what it cost but gas was $4 a gallon and we were in expedition towing trailer (yikes) found a interesting road lost in BC We go to Aspen every fall for John Denver celebration (yep old people) need to have that to apprecaite life! the most beautiful place someday when old will move there... Alabama quiet and content for moment- no traffic- no crime- 45 minutes to mall - who needs it just shop online! Would like to catch up with old friends someday - I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were WRONG. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have control, power, and internet to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I have lived in chicago, Eugene Or and Cullman Al - why did we move - mostly Garys jobs - but came to alabama hoping my parents would come - Not here yet- my in laws came and lived about 10 years before dying- all in all I like it it was a good place for my kids to grow up - good schools- no crime gangs - no snow not to cold 5 hours from beach- 1 1/2 from nashville airport 1 hour away so will probably die here- have a 4 bedroom house with 15 years of junk to hard to move now unless someone wants to buy it All! The biggest surprise is that you live your life to expect to give your kids everything you didn't have - - it the end they just pick what they want and leave the rest ....I look at my inlaws house - things they thought where important are left waiting for the dunp truck... I have learned from my kids that you provide them with the best life has to offer as little kids- it just creates a sense of worth... not always the best is the most important live who you are now- not what the...Expand for more
y think you should be.. I stayed at home with them they never had to go to daycare- I know now that it could have been more - but would it have mattered - I had a daycare business for 6 years those babies thought I was there home... they are now my other grandkids - they spent more time with me than thier homes many days - no pressure- no rushing - time to be kids - just play.. If I won $100 million, I'd give most of it to family and friends, then spend the rest on land, travel and retirement. Alot of money isn't that important to me , just let me live to be healthy and old, I want to live in a nursing home in Branson when the time comes - you know it would be fun all those shows to go to! after that creamation and dump me in Alaska somewhere near the highway where people get the first picture of a real bear along the road! work hard? Not really I talk to people all day- shop online - talk about family, scrapbooks, dreams and plans. no tropies- just a bear tatoo- kinda of dare on our trip to Ak - Jeremy was 17 didn't think he would go thru with it but he did so I had to since it was how I got him to grduation.. so never make a promise you won't keep, In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by taking life easy, no stress, enjoy what I do, treat people like I want to be treated. At this time my oldest friend is probably Gary if that counts, we met because he wanted a a date with Annette, he gave us a ride home from hospital with his sister geri- wHAT A RIDE 90 MILES A HOUR OVER THE BRIDGE ON CENTRAL AND GRAND. AS FOR MY FRIENDS LOST CONTACT WITH MOST WE HAVE Tony & deb we can pick up where we left each trip - kinda of 6th sense allways know when something wrong. I get one do-over ? never move to Oregon I think... I can feel the pain now that my parents must of had letting me go each time my son leaves with my granddaughters, I know the world is a big place with lots to offer but having a family near and dear cannot be replaced with a dollar value.
