Kathy's Story

Well, this is Kathy (sometimes called K.O., or still Dobos). Because of my SLE Lupus, and now having Fibromylgia; I have had to really learn to cut down on being a very active person, and believe me that was very hard to do. Though I have a lot of pain almost all of the time, I don't take anything for pain; so I have just learned to deal with it and that is exactly what I do. U all must remember throughout school how active I was in things, esp. w/in the sports. For me having to learn to slow down was the hardest thing for me to do w/in my life; but I have done it and don't let it bother me. When I have my good days let me tell u I still can't be kept down w/doing nothing (I go until I drop). Nah, but I still love it when I can be very active, then the next few days I pay for it w/pain in my body. Oh well that is enough about the health end, it just lets u know where I am physically. I still like to get out there and through a football around (which I loved for the longest time when growing up, until my dad made me quit playing when I had turned 16). Was afraid that I would get hurt then playing w/the guys. But I was given the nick name back then (lighting) for how fast I ran, making touch downs, and getting through the front line. Still is my favorite sport, then hockey. I enjoy throwing a football, baseball, playing basketball w/my son and w/my grandson. and teaching the younger grandson socceer and etc. And I love swimming and walking. Think I have always loved my sports, except golfing. Maybe w/in the near future I will get back into the medical field; I loved that. I had worked for a doc. in a chiropratic office, there I was his CA, helped him w/physical theraphy, taking and developing x-rays, I was the office manager and did everything for him. Next I had went on to working in the pharmacy as a tech., filling scripts, answering phones, doing the stock and etc. In other areas of work I have worked as a cashier, worked at the metro airport, a green-house, I have taken care of people that were disabled and have did what I could do for them. I enjoy reading, esp. factual writings- and I enjoy doing Bible Study. Withing my house I have or I should say that we have taken literally homeless people off of the streets and taken them...Expand for more
into my home to try to help them out and get back on their feet. Yes I will say that on a lot of the people that have been here some of it was hard, and have had to say good bye to them w/a notice because of problems they couldn't get past which were hurting w/in my style and family life. This isn't something that we have give up on, I still help those that I see that are in need. This is an area w/a lot of trust coming from me and w/a stranger, but the reward in helping these people is so satisfing; and I am greatful. I still like to have my silly times where I just get in these crazy moods and act silly, but if we can't have fun w/in our life ; oh well. When it comes to being open w/people that are my friends, u could say that I am to open; I say what is on my mind and not something that I think they would want to hear. Honesty is the best thing. What stands out w/me is my laugh, u have no idea how many people just love to hear me laugh. They say it is very contagious, I suppose that they are correct w/this and nothing makes me more happy than to have a great laugh at things. (and smiles and etc.) Guess I would have to say that I am a very down to earth type of person, there isn't much out there that I don't really like. (Oh, except going on rides at an amuzement park-no way now how, never have even been to Cedar Point) wow, that's bad. I enjoy my time w/my grandkids very much, they are just awsome. The hardest things in my life was when I had lost my middle sister, had taken care of her w/my mom for 3 months; she had stomach cancer and she passed away in my arms. Then I lost my gramma, then my mom to pancreatic cancer from being d-xed w/in 3 1/2 weeks, then my father passed away this past January, from his kidney (dialysis) and other things came about and he also had cancer. Losing my sis, and parents were really hard for me and I miss them alot; but I know that they are w/the Lord and some day I can go to them. Oh yes the SLE Lupus was a big pain in the butt also. Well for now this is all I can think to write about, if anyone has anything they would like to ask or whatever - just ask. God Bless U All! P.S. On another day I will add pic.'s. oh, and another thing that I really like to do is take photos, just love it.
