Kathy's Story
To make a long story short, I have lived a very eclectic life so far. After high school I started collage at Oshkosh, dropped out to get married, was dumped over the phone. Moved to California, semi hippie, up to Washington, joined the Navy. Married twice, divorced twice, five kids, 8 grandchildren. I can drive anything you put in front of me, have a motorcycle and numerous tattoos. I have had over 45 different jobs. After taking one class at a time I finally ended up with my Masters and became a Nurse Practioner. I then became the Nurse Manager of Ambulatory Care at the V A. In Madison, Wi. er and an access provider. I retired at the end of Sept 2016 after putting in 20 years with the Veterans Administration. I had a very rare type of Cardiac Arrest caused by stress in May. I ended up with an anoxic brain injury, and that is why I had to retire. But it is not stopping me. In Oct we attempted to sail the sailboat down the Mississippi from Wyalusing, Wi to Crystal River, Fl. Got as far as Clarksville, Mo. when the sail boat was damaged when we were thrown into a concrete mooring used to tie up barges by the locks and dams, during a fast rising flood.
