Kathy's Story
It seems so long ago, it's like another lifetime, but after high school I went to college for 3 years, met my soulmate (okay, he wasn't originally my soulmate, he was just a really cute guy with a lot of personality) and got married. Joe was already an ensign in the Navy by then. We spent the ensuing 32 years moving around, raising our two children, and coping with military life.

ton, VA. Our kids are away at college. Joe has a challenging position in the DC area, still on active duty, and I work with the wounded special operations warriors and their families at Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval Hospital.
Being in the DC area means I get to come home a lot, which is a luxury after living so far away for so many
years. My mom still lives in our house, my brother Frank and his family live in Manhattan, and Pam Pike lives just a few miles away, so I am enjoying my proximity to all of them! Hanging out in my mother's kitchen with everyone is still the best.
