Kathy's Story
Life
Life has been pretty good so far. I'm still with the same man I married in '85. I have a great son who will graduate from high school this spring '06 and he'll attend college next fall (still deciding which school). I've been working for the same company, Costco, since 1980. I'm Asst. General Merchandise Manager overseeing buying for the Housewares, Small Appliances and Home Textiles Departments for our US Division. I travel extensively around the world sourcing product in these categories. It's a great job with a great company.
I attended our 10, 20 and 25 year reunions and I love re-connecting with my past. It's amazing to see all the faces from Holiday Park Elemantary School that I've known since first grade and the high percentage of reunion attendees that were also in York and Shaffer in 6th grade. High school days were very magical in so many ways. I moved out of my parents house before I was 17. Farm...we had excellent parties with live music and volleyball...lots of cool people. It was a blast!
After my "Farm Phase" I had to get serious about life, find a job, be responsible, etc. I began working at Price Club in 1980. This is where I met my husband Todd, the Brophy Boy. I transfered to the Tucson Price Club in 1982, got engaged and moved to the Price Club central headquarters in San Diego in 1984, got married in 1985, moved to east coast headquarters (Wash. DC area) in 1986, had my son in 1987, got promoted to buyer in 1988, moved back to San Diego in 1992. Price Club and Costco merged in 1993, we moved to Costco headquarters in Seattle in 1994 and have lived here since then. It's a good place to live. The air is clean (too much rain), it's green and a safe place to have a family.
I recently re-connected with my first love on Classmates.com. It's a great thing to re-connect...all of those great memories. Would love to hear from you, if you remember me. I hope all of my classmates are leading happy and satisfying lives. All the best.
