During this long career, it took me many set backs, moves etc to make my goals to be in the Technical arena. I had one year of college when I started as a GS-2 and hundreds of hours of technical and computer programmer training in order to advance to a GS-13 by time of retirement. It was never easy for a woman in the Federal Government to advance then nor is it probably now BUT there ARE more opportunities currently available.
