Katie's Story
Okay I keep getting these "join Classmates.com emails" so I'll bite this time.
I was married to Jerry Couchman and we have one daughter together, Jeana. She currently lives in Bellingham, attends WWU, and is working on a degree in Theraueptic Recreation.
Many of you know Jerry was in the AF as a F-4 pilot for many years. Part of the time we were togther we lived in England, Taiwan, and Germany. After we divorced I went back to England for awhile then on to Berlin.
I came back to Bellingham in 1989 when my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and stayed in Bellingham until 2002. During that time I obtained my flight instructor certificate and taught flying at Chuckant Aviation in Burlington. Who would have ever guessed!!!! I also joined Whatcom County Fire District #4 and was a volunteer firefighter/EMT. In 2000 I bought a beautiful Harley-Davidson motorcycle, flew to Phoenix, AZ to pick her up, and rode back to Washington with a friend. Who would have ever, ever guessed!!!!!
In 2002 I decided rainy weather was no longer an option for me. After doing some r...Expand for more
esearch I settled in Denver, CO where I have been ever since.
I was always involved in healthcare and have managed several different types of medical clinics throughout my career.
I finally went back to school in 2004 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Healathcare Administration and I am currently working on a Master's in Healthcare Services Administration at Regis University here in Denver.
I love Colorado!!!! It is one of the best places to live for those of us who cannot get enough of the outdoors.
Okay, I do miss Puget Sound but Frontier has direct flights every day to Seattle and I do make it back to Bellingham at least once or twice a year.
I made a big career change this summer. Teaching has been a passion of mine for a long time and I am finally doing what I love. Teaching medical assisting/medical administration at a technical college in the Metro Denver area. This will be the perfect springboard for a Department Chair position in the not too distant future.
I found the wonderful guy in the picture at a backyard party two summers ago.
Life is good.
