Katie's Story
Went to U. of Evansville after high school and graduated with a degree in special education. Married Wendell Rohrer in August of 1987 when I graduated and moved to Lafayette, IN so Wendell could get his Ph.D. in psychology from Purdue (he's a neuropsychologist at Elkhart General Hospital). Taught and coached volleyball and softball for 6 yrs. while getting my masters in Sp. Ed. from Purdue. Had my first baby (Alan) in Jan. of 1993, 2nd(David) in Mar. 1995, ...Expand for more
3rd (Anna)in Feb. 1997. Moved to South Bend/Mishawaka in 1993 to be with family. Proud to be a stay-at-home mom for 11 yrs. before going back to teaching students with severe disabilities part-time at John Young M.S.. Did a bunch of stuff in between all these years like cool vacations, volunteering in the schools, gardening, etc. Just celebrated 22 yrs. of marriage--go US! I'd do it all again, just the same way, I am blessed.
