I was a teenage drug addict and had made a complete mess of my life until, at the age of 17, I came to the personal and deep knowledge of the saving grace of God through Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Saviour. nt to Honduras on what I expected to be a short term trip in 1989, but my Director, Michael Karl, simply left me there under the authority of a missionary couple. After several years there I was in a plane wreck in the mountains and had to be hospitalized for three months. When I returned to Sebring, Florida, for convalescence and regrouping at New Testament Mission, I found my self being courted relentlessly by a lovesick young man named Roger Engle, who also aspired to the mission field. He and I got married in January, 1995, shortly after he returned from his first long term mission experience, and had our first son in November of that same year. After our second son was born we returned to the mission field of La Moskitia, in Honduras, where we have been working ever since, with as few interruptions as possible to better the lives of malnourished and handicapped Miskito Indian children. I now work hand-in-hand with an organization called Send Hope, out of Allen, Texas. The Director of Send Hope, Tom Brian, financed the building of my dream facility for the housing, education and general embetterment of the lives of the malnourishe and Handicapped children with which we work. I continue to work at House of Hope, in Puerto Lempira, Honduras, where I serve as the Assistant Director.".
