Kay's Story
After graduating from Fillmore in 1966, I got my Bachelor's degree from SUNY Fredonia and my Master's from SUNY Geneseo. I worked for 28 years as a school librarian in the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central district south of Rochester, retiring in 1997 at the age of 48.
My husband Steve and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on August 11. He is an engineer; after serving in the Marine Corps he spent most of his career at Xerox. When we retired we moved from the Rochester area to Estero, Florida, between Fort Myers and Naples on the Gulf Coast. We live in a golf course communi...Expand for more
ty and Steve plays three times a week; he's had four holes-in-one. I started line dancing in Florida and now I teach a group during the winter season. I have also been active in my community, serving on the Clubhouse Social Committee and the Communications Committee.
Steve and I have cruised extensively in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, visiting Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. Tired of traveling, a couple of years ago we bought a summer home on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee, where we do the same things we do in Florida, line dancing and golfing.
