Kay's Story
Life
I spent a year at Jeff State and then married a guy I met there. We were married for 17 years and had two children. After divorcing in 1993, I went back to school and began to work on a degree in education. I remarried a great guy in 1997, finished my degree, and began teaching at Moody Elementary School. I then obtained my master's degree and have been teaching there for 10 years.
I have been teaching 2nd grade for eight years, and I love it! The kids are still very sweet and moldable at that age.
I am currently enjoying my summer off. I love gardening, scrapbooking, and other domestic things in the summer. I suppose my favorite would have to be gardening. I have a nice little collection of daylillies and other perennials. ...Expand for more
As for scrapbooking, it is difficult to go back and scrapbook your family after the fact. I'm in the process of trying to figure out what happened and when. I would encourage any wanna-be scrapbookers to do it as you go. In your later years, the memories aren't quite so crystal clear!
My husband, Mark, works for Tractor Equipment in Birmingham and also enjoys rebuilding motorcycles and four-wheelers. We occasionally ride together (not as often as he would like). He takes care of his father who is paralyzed, and that takes a lot of his time.
We have not yet been anywhere this summer; having discovered we like the beach in early October, we will probably just wait and go then.
