Kay's Story

My story~~I graduated in 1965 NOT 1964 as shown on my profile. In high school I was very shy so I wasn't one of the "In Crowd". After school I attended Western Academy of Hair Design. There I lost some of my shyness and discovered that people don't really bite after all! I was a hairdresser for about 4 or 5 years. I married Paul Milton and that lasted about 4 years. In 1977 I married David Pruett and we had a son Jonathan. He had 4 grown children from a previous marriage so I became wife, mother & grandmother with one swift "I do". From those children I have 8 grandchildren and umpte...Expand for more
en great grandkids. David & I moved to Weaverville in 1978 next door to my parents & grandfather. My precious parents passed away in Sept. and Dec. 2008 and then on March 5 2009 I lost my David. It was a tough 7 months. I worked for the Register of Deeds for 25 years and retired this past May. I LOVE retirement!! I have traveled a bit since retiring and plan to do more. I enjoy reading, traveling with my buddies, sleeping late, and friends. Oh, and I'll post a photo when I figure out just how to do it! This ole gray-haired (salt & pepper with an extra dash of salt!)lady is new at this.
