Susan L.'s Story

The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Debbie Phillips, because we have lost contact She was one of my best friends. The one teacher I would like to sit down with at supper again and talk face-to-face is Harriet Brown Carpenter. (James Madison 9th grade English). As an adult, I can now share, discuss things with her I couldn't YEARS ago. Face to face is important to me, but that will not be possible. Harriett died of pancreatic cancer in the late 80's. The most important thing I can share with the Class 0f '67 is that I became a born-again Christian in January, 1973. Jesus has guided my life every since. o years at Rhema Bible College 1980-82. Northeast Oklahoma looks a LOT like southeast Iowa--rolling green hills. The weather and my wonderful church convinced me to stay. I have worked various jobs over the years, not truly "retiring" from one. Always keeping active and mowing lawns for that extra income.... I was lost, fumbling around looking for answers in a world that had none. That is what my classmates, my teachers saw if they look the time to look, to listen. Memorizing stats, figures, to get a grade was anemic. Jesus is permanent, solid, secure, and has profitable answers. It is nice to read that some of my classmates have accepted Jesus too this side of '67. HE is the most important person in this life and for all eternity (02/28/2018).....
