Kay's Story
Life
After graduating "a short while ago," I sang professionally for two years on the east coast and then came home to South Jersey to stay. I worked at RCA and then at Foreign Policy Research Institute, at the Univ. of Penna., where I attended night classes. Marriage in 1965, a son in 1967 and, again, in 1969, and divorced in 1978. I attended Rutgers at night and obtained a Certification in Paralegal Studies at the Institute for Paralegal Training, in Phila. Between working for attorneys, I continued singing professionally and continue today. About 17 years ago, I joined my younger brother (Ken Christiansen, class of 1966, Pennsauken), who was a tenor soloist at Margate Community Church. I became the alto soloist. It has been a blast. ve put on several productions over the past 12 years. All of these shows have taken place at the shore area, Music Pier, in Ocean City; Gateway Theatre, in Somers Point; Atlantic Community College, etc. And I love the shore. I am still working as a paralegal for a firm in Cherry Hill. My specialty in the office is personal injury and workers' compensation. My oldest son, Doug (37), lives in South Jersey and has a 10 year old son; my youngest son, Steve (35), lives in LaQuinta, Ca. (near Palm Springs), and has a daughter, aged 2. Needless-to-say, these two grandchildren are very special to me. No pets. Never home enough! I was very involved in a writing group, called The Riverton Writers, but, unfortunately, time has prevented me from being active. Fortunately, I am in very good health and try to enjoy each day to the fullest. I hope all of my friends and classmates are well.
