Kay's Story
Life
My Spouse
Jim and I met at a picnic put on by KEEN (Kansas Exemplary Educators Network). Jim had been a Kansas Principal of the Year. We met in July of 1997 and were married in December of the same year. Between 1980 and 1996 I had been married to Jack Bushman, my college advisor for my Master's Degree.
My Pets
I love dogs! Right now I have a Scottie named Gus and a Dachsund named Dharma. They are terrific entertainment!
My Kids
Eric is 23 and works full-time as a newscaster/news anchor/producer for KMBZ radio in Kansas City. I have a beautiful three-year-old grand-daughter named Sam...Expand for more

My Job
After having taught social studies and English for 27 years in Shawnee Mission and Ottawa, I spent the six years working with new-to-the-district teachers in Olathe, doing observations and consultations, as well as training in areas of writing, reading, problem solving, brain research and classroom management. I've been blessed in my career to be named both a Kansas Master Teacher, as well as a finalist for Kansas Teacher of the Year. Currently I serve as the K-12 Language Arts Coordinator for the Olathe District Schools. Yes, Miss Jeter has had a tremendous influence on my career!
