Kaylene's Story

Life I went to Oregon State University and earned a BS in Environmental Science and a BA in French. I was fortunate enough to be able to study in France my Junior year while my husband (at the time boyfriend) studied in England. We did a lot of traveling and enjoyed our time there. I earned a master's degree in International Studies from North Carolina State University in 2008. I met my husband our freshman year in the dorms and we married in September 2002. We had our first child, Caitlyn Grace, in October 2007. She's absolutely perfect and I love being a mom! Since getting married, we have moved at least once a year. We started that trend when we left Boise about 10 months after getting married to move to Denver, Colorado. ...Expand for more
My husband then joined the Army and they've kept us hopping. We left Denver after a year when he was initially stationed in Ft. Lewis, Washington. That was a great move, we were so close to two of my favorite cities, Portland and Seattle. A year later, he was transferred to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina which was quite a change for us, with both of us being from the west. After 1 1/2 years in NC, he was again transferred, this time to Ft. Carson, Colorado where he is currently stationed. I never thought we'd move so much but it has been an adventure. However, I am looking forward to settling down a bit and hopefully getting to stay in one place for awhile. Ft. Carson looks promising, we think we'll be there for a few years at least.
