After graduating in '69 I went to the NMSU branch in Carlsbad for two years. During that time, I married Becky Davis, also class of '69. We've been happily married ever since, for just over 37 years now. My how time flies!! From NMSU-C, we went to Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. I received my B.S. (seems appropriately named, doesn't it?) in 1974, with a major in Anthropology (archaeology) and a minor in Geology. I worked at Blackwater Draw (the type sight for the early man Clovis people) and at Salmon Ruins (Anasazi, i.e. Chacoan)which is just outside Bloomfield, NM. Archaeology is a great hobby, but a terrible way to make a living and raise a family. Being that as it is, we moved back to Carlsbad and I went to work at AMAX Chemical in the lab, and later in the engineering department. We had two kids, a daughter and a son, while I worked at the mines. My daughter is now 32 and my son is 30. We have two grandkids now, ages 6 and 5.
