Keith's Story
Wow, can't believe 2008's almost in the can. It's been another year of circling the globe, flying mostly to Hong Kong, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Paris and Rome. Not exactly hard duty I know, but I'd trade it all for early retirement if the stock market would just cooperate. I know nothing would make Lori happier than to unpack my suitcase for the last time and hang my uniform in mothballs.
We just celebrated three awesome years of marriage (been together nearly seven) and I still can't get over the fact that this incredible woman puts up with me and this crazy-airline pilot life. But thank God she does!
The kids are doing great; Jeremy's 2 boys are growing like weeds. As I write this, he's taken his wife Tasha and kids Keith and Devin up to Cheyenne to spend Christmas with his mother. Speaking of Jeremey's wife, she's recently stepped out on her own as a professional photographer and she's awesome!
Son #2 (Justin) is now a full fledged US Border Patrol Agent and doing work I'm really proud of down in southern AZ where he and his wife Kristin live.
And son #3 (Daniel) is elbow deep into college up there in (b...Expand for more
rrrrr cold) Nebraska. He bought the cutest darned car last year; an original Austin Mini - British Racing Green with a Untion Jack on the roof (total chick magnet).
So I guess that leaves my little one; Chloe, still an absolute joy and crack-up. She'll be 10 the end of January. That's ten going on twenty, or is that twenty-five? Smart as a whip and funny as heck, that girl keeps me laughing.
And last but certainly not least, my mom continues to amaze me at age 86. Still making her daily mile walk, still driving her own car, still taking care of her own house. Still one of the two best women God ever breathed life into. And thank heavens she and Lori get along like a house on fire.
We've got two new furballs in the house who keep us entertained when the grandkids aren't around. I have to admit (don't tell the wife) I do kinda like those two crazy cats, though for the record, I remain a "dog person".
Life's good and getting better every day. We're all healthy, we're happy and we're smart enough to keep counting our blessings.
Here's to a year of blessings and fresh dreams to all of you.
