Keith's Story
Life
Hello!
My name is Keith Macksey (pronounced "maxi" - originally "O'Macasee" -- of County Cork, Ireland -- for any genealogy buffs among us). I currently reside in Western Pennsylvania in a home I share with my wife, Lynn, and our two children, Kevin (13 yrs old) and Kimberly (11 yrs old). Various livestock are present at any one time, including: several cats, a rabbit, a few hamsters and other assorted Pennsylvania denizens. I like to think of myself as:
a devoted spouse and father;
a patient and encouraging homeschool parent to our son;
a fair Little League umpire (though occasionally mistaken);
an avid and eclectic reader; and
a community volunteer with the Scouts, a local homeless shelter and small children's theatre group.
I work as a management trainer for Dollar General Corporation. I also operate ELC, Inc., a ...Expand for more
professional consulting organization offering expertise in instructional design, employee development programs, performance management and eLearning initiatives. I have been active as an independent consultant only since April of 2001, however. I was in the employ of various corporations in the preceding ten years. I also teach part-time for the University of Phoenix - Online.
If limited to two words to describe myself, I would choose innovator and interruption. My time is filled with both these things . . .
innovation: I believe ideas run the world, so constantly find myself drawn to new concepts, contexts and their owners.
interruption: For other persons comfortably attached to previous modes, programs or processes, however, this focus on innovation has had me be a sort of 'wake up caller' -- welcome at times -- at others, not.
