Life
Left Evansville at 17, joined the Marines and travelled. Served 14 years active duty (1981-1995), travelling to Okinowa, Guam, South Korea, Philippinnes, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Somalia, and served afloat on ships also. Did Expeditionary Duty (Op Restore Hope)in Somalia in 1992-1993. Obtained rank of Staff Sergeant. In Aug 1994 while training Marines for potential combat in Korea, I was wounded in a training accident which involved a hand grenade explosion. Kevlar works..trust me!!. Was medically Retired in Aug 1995. Currently Chief of Police with the Wellton Az Police Dept, have been with this Dept for over 10 years. First y...Expand for more
ear with Dept was as a Deputy Marshal (when dept was a Marshal's Office). I was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Yuma County Az Sheriff's Dept for 10.5 years(1987-1998) prior to this. In Feb 2005, I was selected to be Chief of Police when the current Chief retired. Still have the job, but it can be tricky Married this past year to a schoolteacher. She teaches 3rd grade and is good at it. I have a step son also. I go home occasionally, but Arizona is home now, enjoy the wide open spaces and clear skies. No gangs here either!!.
