My Job
I returned from Iraq in September 2006, spent 5 years as the the Chief Information Officer/Director of the IT Department for the California Army National Guard and 2 years working for Governor Brown as his Cyber Security Officer. I am currently retired Federally after 33 1/2 years of service and work for the California National Guard as a State employee. I also teach IT curriculum at the University of Phoenix and Heald College
College
I received a MS degree in Computer Information systems in May of 2002 from The University of Phoenix and a MS degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College in July of 2010.
Military
I enlisted into the Army National Guard in 1980 to pay for college at Ohio State....Expand for more
I then decided I wanted to see the world and serve my country fulltime, so I went on active duty in 1983 and served in Berlin, Germany behind the wall and then spent 2 years in Texas. After getting married and having children I still wanted to serve but not move every couple of years, so I went back into the National Guard in 1987. I work full time for the CA National Guard headquarters. In May of 2005 I was mobilized and deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in October of 2005 with the 49th Military Police Brigade. In September of 2006 I returned to CA and became the CIO/Director of the IT Department for the CA Army National Guard. I completed my Federal career for the Army as the Brigade Commander of the 115th Regional Support Group in September of 2013.
