Kelli's Story

Things are moving along quite well here in Omaha Nebraska, and trust me, I do not live in the corn fields,(I hear this quite a bit)the corn fields are in IOWA. Nebraska is a thriving and heavily populated state. HUSKER fans are almost as neurotic as the Michigan or State fans. Love the weather here, summers are long and comfortable and the fall seems to stretch out longer than the Michigan season. Although I must admit, Michigan still has the most beautiful Fall Season, with all of it's colors. Still working at Applebee's, its been 18 years for me now. Love managing and dealing with all the different personalities and obsticles that are a part of running a business,it has taught me a lot. Attended school for Surgical Technology and graduated in 06. surgery is truly a miracle, what a wonder the human body is. I still remember how moving it was for me to assist with my first double mastectomy. Seeing the end result as we finished closure on her told me exactly why they call these woman warriors and survivors and why they walk to raise money to defeat cancer. 1 in every 3 woman are diagnosed with some form of breast cancer. I was also honered to assist in this woman's reconstruction surgery at a later time. Whew, that was deep...lol. Although I've stayed at Applebee's, I will always have that as a back up plan. The surgery rooms atmosphere is very intense and focused. I prefer a more laid back style, keeping it mellow and having fun. Life is way to short. My husband and family are thankfully all healthy and happy. Miss some of you and hope all is well in the Great Lakes State.
