Kelly's Story
Life
let's see... i moved to san francisco when i was 24 with my best friend chano salas. living in a city like sf is so different than fresno/clovis. i was a buyer for a store called shoe biz on haight street, but now i am a stay home mom! my boyfriend of 6 years- walter and i got married on 6/30/07 in hood river, oregon. chano salas was my "man of honor" and stood by my side. it was amazing!! we have a daughter, sadie winter baumann who is the best! she was born on 1-23-08. walter is a graphic designer and is working for wired magazine. i am still really into music...use to go to see bands play all the time- now only the really great ones since sadie. electronica, indie and so much more. san fran is perfect for this. we will eventually be moving to hood river oregon, where we already have a beautiful house over looking 2 rivers. it is expensive here in san fran. hood river will be a beautiful place to raise kids. so our time here will be limited. i can't imagine raising kids here in this city, i'd like to have a front and backyard for that!! we will be moving there the summer of 2011.
i don't think i've changed too much- older & wiser, not yet jaded by life and stress. i love living and try to smile and stay happy. and this city keeps me young!!
i guess the only people i...Expand for more
keep in touch with are chano and heidi jo smith-still my best friends. i lost touch with fadi issa :( , and need to be better about keeping in touch with other friends. there are alot of people that i miss and would love to re-connect with!
School
high school was a very learning experience to me. i went to mclane for 2 years and then went to clovis high for the last 2. it was hard because i left going to school with kids i knew back from ernie pyle and fort miller- to knowing just a few kids at clovis high. and they are totally different schools!!! high school was fun, but so many people judged others by the way they dressed and the music they listened to. very lame, but it made me stronger and have an open mind. it would have been so much better if it wasn't so clicky. differences are what makes life so interesting and fun. but i guess that is the test of school. to be able to stand up for who you are becoming and what you are falling in love with. i met alot of great people and 2 of my best friends at clovis high- but going there for only 2 years limited me. i loved the kids who weren't afraid to express themselves. air guitar was fun. no fav. teachers... i missed graduating with the kids from mclane... i had so much more history there! and i will always remember them.
