Kelly's Story
After graduation I got married (way, way too fast!) had my first child (Jessica) 3 years later. Seven years after that I managed to drag myself (literally) (ok, there was also some pullin involved and quite a bit of help from the men in blue, or in my case black since I live outside city limits) out of that marriage. After FINALLY getting divorced, it took a while. But, alas, a little persuasion from my knight in shinning armor aka: my hubby (Bobby) did the trick :-)
After marriage one and my de-brainwashing (is that a word?) I married again (learned the hard way - but joyfully can say, lesson learned, got it right this time!!) If I had to go through that to get to this, well then it was worth the trip - found my soul mate! (yeah, yeah cliche, I know, but so true:-) Didn't do everything in the correct order (ok none of it really) but, I moved back to the Hillsdale district (yeah!) had two more babies (Amber and Kobe) and was sailing the smooth blissful waters until September 8, 2006 when my world came crashing down (lost the biggest, strongest man in the world, aka: my Daddy) Have been swimming upstream for quite awhile now, but with the awesome support of our WONDERFUL, INCREDIBLE, AMAZING (you get the picture don't you? If not feel free to come visit :-) church - New Hope Community church in Loudonville, my hubby, my big brother and most importantly God (the True biggest, strongest man in the world!) I am maneuvering the waters a little easier every day :-)
Thought it would be pretty cool to catch up with some of the rest of you 88 graduates :-) (are you all I shocked as I am that it has been 20 years??) It seriously doesn't feel that long, at least I don't think so, but hey, I tried to be 36 for 3 years, but last year my husband said ok, you have been 36 for the last 2 years - you are 38 this year! (Oh, well it...Expand for more
was worth a try :-), I seriously don't feel like I am knocking on 40's door though - do you?
I keep myself busy with Kobe (yes, he is named after Kobe Bryant :-) how many remember what a HUGE Lakers fan I am?? but, his name was seriously my husband's idea!!), Amber and Jessica and my sometimes 4th kid (my hubby). Oh, and our kitty (Moses). I love to bake and cook, watch movies with the family, read and that sort of thing, I do enjoy the occasional trip to the big city to visit wal-mart LOL! I listen to contemporary Christian music (Disciple, Skillet, Sanctus Real, Casting Crowns - too many to name!) Oh, and The Almost (which I proudly have as my cell phone ringer right now). Part of my proud comes from the eye rolling my teenager gives me when I (perhaps a little too much) enjoy the sound of my phone ringing with "Amazing Because It Is" (Come on admit it - it is so much fun to watch them act like we are idiots!! --- I know I am not the only one who enjoys this ---am I??) I do still listen to country when my fav. station WVMC won't come in. I completely gave up on rock or whatever that "noise" is that's on the "hit" radio stations now (the stuff I hear blaring out of my teenagers ear buds) (and, sorry for those of you who have "kept up with the times" and listen to the stuff) But, SERIOUSLY?? Rock was good in our day, at least it was honestly rock! (wow that sounds parent - like huh?) I do get great enjoyment out of putting on some of "my music" for my kids from the many "80's cd's" (old stuff as they call it) their dad and I have. The eyes start rolling and the ear buds quickly go in! Although we occasionally hear "OMG! so and so sings that" - to which we say "OMG! so and so just copied some good music" then comes their quick reply "it sounds so much better now!" (Again, I must ask - SERIOUSLY???) Not a chance ;-)
