Ken's Story
After heading the TAA and leaving THS, I was certain that my career would include law school and politics. But I was drafted right after graduating from Lycoming College in 1969. After winning a commission through OCS, I became an intelligence officer, working against the Soviet KGB/GRU in Germany during the Cold War. Against long odds, I was selected for the West Point faculty, earning my doctorate at Harvard & the Fletcher School at Tufts. As a senior officer, I worked directly for the Army Chief of Staff during Desert Storm and ended my military career as a Bosnian peacekeeper and Dean of the National War College. For nearly a decade after leaving active duty, I was a principal on-air military analyst for the networks of NBC News, including MSNBC & CNBC. My beat as a TV analyst included every major news story concerning national security, from the Balkan wars, through 9/11 and Afghan/Iraq conflicts. The author of four books and many newspaper columns, today I live an absurdly quiet and happy life in San Antonio Texas. Best of all, I recovered my faith and re-discovered love with my wife Betsy (a cowgirl and my cultural adviser on all things Texan!)
