I live in Gamerco, New Mexico, just North of Gallup with six dogs - Tocha, Bruno (see their pictures - aren't they cute!), Stella, Lady, Cleo, Lucy, a cat (Curley) and African Grey Parrot (Ollie - who rules the roost)and have a good life managing and independent living center assisting people with disabilities, brain injuries and elders live in the community.
In 1976, I received a brain injury after running head first into the side of Bob Brewer's Ford Pinto on Pat Moore's snowmobile. It's taken me 32 years to get my life back and now am passing on what I have learned to help others who aren't as fortunate.

rail with five of my dogs (Lucy gets car sick so she stays home) and am politically active advocating for community-based services for people with brain injuries, disabilities and Navajo and Zuni Elders.
This advocacy is based on over 25 years experience working with poor people on Social Security and Medicaid.
Imagine surviving on $500-$600 a month.
This part of New Mexico has many sights and cultures to experience. Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, El Moro, San Juan River, Navajo/Zuni/Hopi Reservations are all near by.
If I ever need a baseball fix I drive to Spring Training or Winter Ball sites in Arizona (5 hours away).
My life is simple and I try to keep it that way, but it's hard when there is so much to be done and so little time to - git er done!
