I'm a Battalion Chief with Cal Fire (CDF) and have been a firefighter for most of my adult life. I have a wife (25 years) and two daughters, both in college. My oldest is a graduate student in a PhD program who just returned from a major archeological dig in the Sudan. She's majoring in Biological Archeology. The youngest is pulling a 4.0. and is currently pre-med. We'll see how that works out. My wife and I live in the Sierras, have a house on two acres of lawn, and are toward the end of a five year remodel. The original house was about 100 years old, so new stuff was needed. That being said, if any of you have done major remodels, you'll know that a protracted program like this one is about as much fun as having root canals done on all of your front teeth.
